EV Batteri Elektro AS is located in Arendal. We are a specialist workshop with expert competence on electric cars – and especially Tesla. We specialize in repair and improvement of main batteries and electric car motors (Drive Units). We also offer preventive checks and maintenance of high-voltage components.

Regular workshop services

At EV Batteri Elektro we focus exclusively on repairs of high-voltage and electric motors. Do you need a regular service, brake repair, windshield replacement, wheel alignment, or EU control? We offer this through our regular workshop, Batteri Elektro AS. They perform regular services and repairs on all car brands. We obviously use advanced equipment such as Tesla's Toolbox, Bosch diagnostics, and Helle diagnostics across our departments.

If you take a regular service at Batteri Elektro AS, our Mekonomen mobility guarantee applies – which then lasts for one year.

Repair of own battery: Cost is determined after diagnosis and inspection. Switch to an overhauled battery (85kWh): NOK 95,000 (with 3 years and 50,000 km warranty). (Prices valid from 26.03.2025) Repair time: 1-2 days, if swap. Approx. 5 days, if repair of own battery.

Repair of own motor: Cost is determined after diagnosis and inspection. Switch to an overhauled motor: NOK 59,000. Repair time: 1-2 days, if swap and stock access. 2-5 days, if repair of own motor. Time usage depends on access to replacement parts for any defective parts.

Repair of main battery

Repair of main battery

It currently costs (October 2025) NOK 95,000 (incl. VAT) to repair an 85kWh battery. A warranty of 3 years/50,000 km is given on the job. The customer chooses whether it is the car's own battery that is repaired, or if a ready repaired battery is put in. For repair of own battery, the price can be adjusted after completed diagnosis. Typical price is then between 50,000 and 95,000. The work includes replacing any bad battery modules, umbrella valves, high voltage contacts, upgrading seals and performing a tightness test. Please note that the price applies for standard repair and does not cover abnormal cases, such as major short circuits in the battery, mechanical damage etc.

Preventive maintenance of the main battery

The main battery is exposed to a lot of mud and sand. This settles in the side channels, where the umbrella valves sit. The accumulation can lead to clogged valves and condensation not escaping from the battery pack. In addition, the fuse cover on the battery is checked – and replaced if necessary. The fuse cover is a weak point on the main battery, and should be replaced at 8 years of age. This is a job we can perform in 1 day. First main inspection of the main battery on Tesla S (should be performed after approx. 8 years, when Tesla's battery warranty expires): – Remove battery pack from car and remove lists where the umbrella valves sit. Replacement of all umbrella valves on the battery pack. Replacement of metal cover over battery fuse. We offer this for NOK 14,600 (incl. VAT).
